Kicking The Habit ~ Day 222

So as of Saturday we are kicking the Binky habit. Saturday night went pretty good. Sunday nap, night time and today's nap... not so good. The crying and tears are so hard on mommy. All I wanna do is hold her. Problem is up until now she has relied on the Binky to help her fall back asleep when she wakes in the night. Now she wants to rely on me rocking her. So as much as I WANT to rock her, I have to stop or she will never be able to put herself back to sleep when she wakes in the night. I know this, but it is still hard. Although she will be my "baby" forever, she will technically only be my baby for a few more months and I want to savor every minute while I still can.

It is nice to know that even with no nap and lots of tears, my pretty girl still can be happy and smile.

Uncle Chris' House ~ Day 221

We visited with Chad's brother Chris this weekend @ his house. Kensington really enjoyed going there.

French Toast ~ Day 220

Little Artist ~ Day 219

I decided to break out the paint this morning. We are in a rut as far as inside activities so this was something to break up the monotony.

She is being very cautious to start...
It doesn't take her too long to warm up!

She loved rinsing her brush in the water, maybe even more than the painting itself!

I just had to get some on her face and she quickly followed suit. The blue is from me, the pink from her.

By the end we had a whole palate of colors on her face!

A little messy? Yes. However, with a table cloth, paint shirt and washable paints it's an easy clean up. Soooo worth it!!

Potty ~ Day 218

So this is the closest we have gotten with the potty training! Finally I got her to sit on the potty. She decided this morning that it would be a good idea to take off her nightgown and diaper and run around naked. When she picked up this new Dora book I saw an opportunity! I told her it was a new book just for when she is on the potty. So down she sat...and stayed...for about 5 minutes!! No potty of course, but my goal right now is just getting her to sit there.She is proud of herself I think!

Story Time ~ Day 217

Kensi and mommy both love story time @ the library. This weeks theme was balls. Not only do we read stories, but we dance to music, do finger plays and other activities to get the kids moving. Here the kids each got to bounce their own "ball" (really a balloon) every time they heard the "B" sound in the song. I don't think Kensi actually got that part yet, but she had a ball playing with the balloon! I had a great time watching her as well. She even has a new stalker, eh hem, I mean friend. A little boy named Brenden that just wouldn't stay out of her face. I don't blame him though. She is pretty cute!

My Baby Brother ~ Day 215

Kensington got to go with us to our u/s today to see her baby brother again. This time we got a 3D picture. We weren't even expecting it, as you usually have to pay extra for these. I guess not when you are going to a specialist though. Here he is kicking me!

It's funny b/c as soon as we are in the room, Kensi starts saying "open, open" for us to open the door. Poor child has a fear of the doctors office I think. But she really enjoys seeing the baby on the monitor. I think it may be helping her to understand that what is in mommy's belly is on the screen b/c she sees them place the wand on my belly and move it all around. Poor girl has no idea how her life is about to change! She'll always be mommy's little girl though =)

Naked Girl ~ Day 214

After I change her diaper she just loves to run around naked. She has even taken off her own diaper a few times! Here she slowed down enough for me to catch her taking a break!

Zoo Day ~ Day 213

We had the chance to go to the Zoo today. Lucky Kensi gets to ride in a stroller.It was Jack Hannah's Fall Festival. They had lots of neat stuff, including this pumpkin carving. That is the baby elephant "Becco" carved into the pumpkin.
