You Capture ~ Spring

Photobucket

Jumping in on a photo contest called You Capture over @ I Should Be Folding Laundry.  (Great blog name by the way, as that is exactly what I should be doing right now!) The theme this week is spring! I am very much a beginner when it comes to photography but I do have a few shots I am proud of.  I guess I'll take this opportunity to show them off now!

**edited to add**

Right after I posted the above photos I walked outside into my front yard and saw this....
So of course I attempted to capture it the best I could, being careful not to disturb the nest or touch anything.  Momma bird was watching from my roof top!
Have you ever seen a blue more beautiful & brilliant?
Also guarding the nest?  Our dopey but lovable Peagle, Besty.  Can you guess what 2 breeds of dog she is a mix of?

So Good & Happy

This video takes a moment to get going and was taken on my phone so it is not the best quality, however it is really cute!  Bonus points if you can see the naughty thing she tries to do and tell me about it in the comments!

Yesteday & Today

I discovered a fine way to keep Kensi occupied while I am trying to get ready for the day.

Dry Erase Markers!!

Sure my mirror is now a mess, but I can clean that up easily.

I actually got to blow my hair dry.... and put on make up!!
After we picked up Brenden from school I needed wanted to kill sometime before heading to our friends house.  So I first filled up the gas tank and then headed across the street to the carwash.  I thought it would be a fun way to use up some time.  Boy was I ever wrong.  I mean I loved it when I was a kid.  My daughter however???

NOT SO MUCH!!

Yikes!  I mean it's not like it was the first time we did this.  What once brought on giggles and squeals of excitement, apparently now is a horrifying experience.

Oopsie!

One naked toddler, two adorable hairclips & a bribe with blueberries for an endearing smile =
A priceless picture!
Blueberry stained lips that I just love to kiss.
A frozen delight!

Wiggle Worm

I was calling Dell a "Wiggle worm" today while I was getting him dressed.  You know, because that is what his shirt said.

Kensington said "No mom, he's not a wiggle worm!"

I asked "Well, what is he then?"

Her very matter of fact repy?
He's a baby Dell!!

A New Blog

As you know, Kensi has a little baby brother Dell who is just 4 months old.  I figured it was about time to start a year long blog of pictures for him.  Come on over and check it out!

See ya there!!

Mondays are hard! Blogging on Mondays shouldn't be!

Today's theme for Monday Mugs is: Smiles =)

Seeing as today's Monday Mugs is all about smiles, I set to work trying to capture a few.

I wasn't getting much cooperation @ first!
There we go!!
Oh!  Another one!!
While I think she may have been all out of smiles for the camera,
I figured a few of these blueberry eatin' photos might bring a smile to YOUR face!

A Glorious Day!

Yesterday was a glorious day!  We just couldn't get enough of being outside.  There was just so much to do!

She had fun helping Mommy water the plants with her new pal Babs. She was the most enthusiastic little helper!

She could've amused herself  for hours just picking the remnants of winter off of our bushes.

Here she is hugging the tree we planted for her when she was just months old.  Oh how she has grown!

Of course we can't forget all the fun one can have inside too!  My little one just loves to earn her keep!

She does a pretty stand up job too!

Just when I think that my baby girl can't get anymore grown up she pulls a stunt like this:

and reminds me how little she still is!

So I am not a pro @ photo.shop or anything and quite frankly I was feeling a little too lazy to try and figure it out.  So, that being said, I leave you with these photos from another lazy day last week in which Kensi and I were looking for some fun!  We certainly found it.  Oh and.... pardon my hair.  No I am most certainly not wearing one of my daughters clips in my hair in an effort to keep those overgrown bangs out of my face.  Nope.  Not me!!

Monday Mugs~Bubbles

Are you in need of a mindless Monday Blog post? Are you struggling to deal with the weekend being over and can't muster the strength to type a single word? Well, Monday Mugs are for YOU! I may or may not "borrow" ideas from IheartFaces and post my interpretation of their weekly theme. Without submitting my photo for judgement and not being forced to follow the rules.

Mondays are hard! Blogging on Mondays shouldn't be!

Today's theme for Monday Mugs is: Bubbles

And yes.  I am aware that today is TUESDAY!  HA HA!

A rare smile captured on film from my sweet daughter Kensington.  She doesn't mug for the camera much these days!

And we may not have bubbles, but this wouldn't be complete without a picture of what was going on on the other side of the room!  Sweet baby Dell is getting his bath too!  He just LOVES his baths.  They calm him and make him SO happy!

You may be wondering what happened to the rest of the "Year In Pictures".  Well believe it or not I have every intention of finishing it.  It is just a matter of me going through my photos and posting for those days that I have missed.  One of these days I will get the chance and the motivation.

Alot has happened since I last blogged.  Kensi and Dell lost their Gigi, my mother, on March 23.  Gigi died suddenly and it shook our world.  We are still feeling the aftershocks and I am sure we will continue to for a long time to come.  She will be missed greatly and remembered fondly.  Kensi loved dancing with her Gigi.

Here she is with Gigi snugglin' in on a Sunday morning in January.  One of the last times she saw her.
This is one of the few pictures I have of my mom with Dell.  This is the last time we saw her in person.  This is the last weekend in January.
